my 383 build, suggestions / help?

Hi there everyone, I'm still kind of new to the whole engine rebuild thing, but heres my situation. I have a pretty stock 383, with 906 heads (casting date is 68 or 69). It needs a carb and intake and headers (not on the engine when I bought it). It was running but the owner of it wanted to keep these parts for his future engine. Anyways, I was thinking if I'm gonna get a new intake, carb and headers.. might as well get a cam while I'm at it. I'm wondering though, I'd really like to get this 383 to put up around 450 horses (I was reading this mopar action article I think, and it showed a stock 383 mag with a new carb, intake, cam, lifters and headers and it ended up putting out around 467hp on the dyno) So what I was figuring on was a M1 dual plane intake, 750 carb, .509 purple cam and some 1 7/8" headers, unless anyone thinks 3/4" would serve alright, because I've noticed for that extra 1/8" its like an extra 100 bucks. Did I mention I'm on a budget? lol, so if I could acheive 450 horses or near there, without doing any major head work or anything i'd be really happy. I'm up for suggestions for a different cam, or if I should get my heads ported or a valve job or anything. Just, I don't really want to put in anymore than 1000$ into this, and the less the better cuz my challenger needs paint too!! hehe. thanks a lot!
