TTI header questions

Postby Jacy » 12 Sep 2005 0:18

Helllooo? I'm a newbie with, probably, an old question. I'm working on a 70 RT/SE 440 Six Pack. I rebuilt the engine using a Mancini cam kit, the cam specs are 280 x 474. The compression ratio is a touch over 10-1. I installed Hooker headers and am growing weary of listening to them rattle against the torsion bars. After hearing nothing but positive things about the TTI headers I've decided to order a set. My question is what primary tube size should I use? The exhaust system is three inch with an X pipe just behind the Gear Vendors O/drive unit. I'll probably switch to a mini starter at the same time but have heard it may require some modifications? Any help is appreciated. Jbird 8)

P.S. Dave-r thanks for the carb tuning article. I know I'll have questions about them once I get the new headers installed. Thanks again.

If they do a 1-7/8ths primary that would be big enough. 2" primaries would be too big for sure.
