Fuel Recirc Line? Useless?

Postby cturner » 18 Jul 2005 22:28

I put a New Holley Street Avenger on my '71 and I am not sure what to do with that extra 1/4" fuel line that runs from the tank to the carb. I guess its some kind of recirculation line or something. Either way I don't want to hook it back up, will this cause problems like poor ventilation or sudden explosion of my beautiful car?

Just blank it off at the tank.

Today I discovered that this line had rotted and separated at the rubber slice connector near the passenger floor pan. It has been subject to water spray from the front wheel for (?) years. The steel line is plugged with rust to the breather and probably back towards the tank also.

My question is how does the fuel tank vent without this line and what is the function of the lines running from the tank up into the 1.5" tube in the trunk? :?

Thanks
