AFTERMARKET TA/AAR EXHAUST

Postby Brant » 17 Mar 2005 21:15

I tried posting this on transamcuda site but it gave me problems. Figured many of there members belong to this forum - since it rocks!

Anyways, The topic is AFTERMARKET TA/AAR EXHAUST.

I've been facing this battle for a while - I want a 2.5 ID inlet/outlet muffler and tip. The problem is those offering such tips, neglect to keep the ‘cone’ appearence. Or, the chrome/polished area is not near as long as the originals. Thus, making it inferior to stock reproductions – visually.

I'm very curious to know if someone has ventured of the beat'n path and chosen this route? What aftermarket system did you use, how do they sound, are you satisfied, how do the tips look when on car in comparison????

I'm in love with the TA/AAR exhaust look, but need it opened up.

thanks everyone. I have plenty of research into many US aftermarket products, so if you have the time - lets chat. Thanks guys – thanks a million.

This might get you close. I saw a 2.5 inlet/2.25 outlet option.

Hope this helps!

Funny you post that Todd, cause I jsut got off the phone with Colby form Accurate Ltd. A place called Weldtech / also associated with Paintshop101, has a 2.5in, 2.5 out full stainless muffler that I'm probably going to grab.

thanks for the heads up though. I'm quite desperate to find some 2.5'', TA tips that cone to 3'', as does originals. (that look right) If I cannot find some, I may resort to the Accurate Ltd with the reproduction 2.25" chrome tips offered from...? I think Year One.

Thanks

Brant,
I have a 73 cloned to a 70 T/A with exghaust tips coming out behind the door. I can send you pics (plus there are some under board member challengers "pink panther) if you like. I think they look pretty good. let me know if you like them and I will tell you what they are and send pics.
