Block price help

Postby Chrippa » 16 Dec 2004 18:06

Hi all !

Been searching the webb looking for prices on new blocks from both MP and KB but found nothing :(

Those anyone have a list of prices on MP and KB blocks? Im gonna import a block for my own from the states and build a 500 stroker from it.

Im kinda new on the area but are there any more good companies that make new 440 blocks ? Saw that Hughes sell ( new ? ) blocks with pistons and so on for about 5k$ . Are they any good ?

Any help appriciated !! :s025:

Cheers :s019:

I believe the alu blocks are in the 4000-5000 range fully machined by your specs. As for the MP blocks, you know they are hard to come by these days... There is no company who still sells them at the moment. Only try coud be sites like ebay or racingjunk etc.

Actually a used block is better. If it is OK after 20-40 years of use it has to be a good'n?

I am told the KB ally blocks can leak water into the oilways.

Cheer up, Chrippa!!! :s017: Looks like things are going your way after all!!!! I bought Mopar Action the other day and I found information that might intrest you:
" The good news is Mopar is working on new blocks and actually has poured a few, as we go to press they are promising delivery soon, which will bring the price back down to earth"
How does that sound? :D

(No chance at all, that you will choose the 400" route as I have suggested? ) :s025:

A 400 block is the easiest/cheapest/strongest way to get 500 inches. It is the way I would do it.
