Is there any difference between quality of fuel lines? if there is which is a better company to get them from and what sort of material?

I am a big fan of stainless fuel lines, and used them for my car. That being said, they were a bitch to route, and even though they came "pre bent" I did not have any fun.

I think in retrospect, I would have used the OEM style metal (I call it pot metal) as it is a little more pliable.

I used paddocks, and had no problems with the quality or speed.

be sure to use the same diameter as your sending unit, or you will buying a new one of those as well
