Calf. emissions

Postby shatar4 » 29 Jun 2004 3:31

I was wondering if anyone else has the Calf. emissions on there car? I was starting to redo the truck in my 71 Chally and the seperator tube thats in the trunk on the right side is just setting there. There is nothing hooked up or running thru it. I have the original sale documents from Dec. 1970 and the car was sold in Kentucky(It was built in Nov. 1970). Is it something that should be left on the car. I can't understand why they put it in the car if it was not going to Calf.I am starting to find alot of 1970 pieces on my car (It came with a 1970 thumbwheel radio that was only put in 1970 cars, A/C controls but the car was not built with A/C on it etc...) Just wondering.

You sure this is not the vent tube you are looking at that runs from the filler neck down through the trunk floor to the underside of the car?

Ther should be 4 tubes comming out of your gas tank. Some go to the the
vapor seporator in the trunk , and the others connect to the 3 way vapor cap on the valce cover
