340 6 pack metering blocks

Postby Milo » 13 Jun 2004 5:42

Found out that the six pack carbs are Holly 2300's, but have not been able to find replacement metering blocks for them.

Does any one know a way to remove the jets from the metering block?
The jets have been screwed in all the way (well past where they should be) and are seemingly fused in place. The engine is running way to lean this way and I'm afraid to run it for any length of time.

Can the jets be drilled out?

Or..

Do you know anyplace where I could get a new one or have the old one repaired?

Any replies are appreciated

Thanks

Only the center carb has a metering block. The outer two use plates which can be drilled.

I really do not understand what you say about them being screwed in "well past where they should be".

The metering block in the center carb is the same as most common 2bbl and 4bbl Holleys. I replaced mine with one from an old 850 double pumper that I had spare.
