My first post on the "new" message board. Thanks to you for getting it up and running.
Interesting article - I'm going down this path with my 318 and have almost all the bits I need at long last. It's taken a while to get everything I needed, due in part to $$'s and my lack of knowledge. I have all the bits now, and will hone the block soon, then start the re-assembly with all the new items I have been collecting for the past 6 months.
I've had a few set-backs recently. Last week my best friend and fellow Mopar nut committed suicide. Needless to say, this has devasted me and all who knew him. The week before this tragic event, I broke 6 bones in my right hand and only yesterday I came out of hospital after undergoing surgery for a really bad hernia. I know that this sounds like a melodrama, but it's all too true and very sad.
I now find myself re-assessing my life's values, appreciating the simpler things in life more, like my health and my family. My '71 challenger with its little 318 is my project to keep my mind off things and once I'm more able-bodied, I plan to pour myself into the project of re-building the motor/trans etc.
I will be posting questions to all you experts in the near future as I get on top of my life and the restoration project. I plan to dedicate my car to Ashley - my soul-mate, who no doubt is looking down on me from a better place now.
Cheers to you all...Roger
