78 - Plymouth Fury police engine in my challenger tst

Hello.
I have a 1970 Challenger R/T that was bulit with a 440.
I have known that the engine that it has now wasn't the one from the factory, but I thought it was pretty much like the original.
But now I have looked at some numbers and I an a bit konfused.
The engine is a 440, with heads with the numbers 4006452, witch means that they are 76-78 heads.
The intake has the numbers 05110 3830733 +28, and I have found nothing that mtach that.
Now I have found out that the casting numbers on the block 4006630-440-7, is the numbers on blocks from 1978.
The block allsow has the numbers and letters
8 440 EHP in front of the intake manifold, or valley-cover.
My book says that EHP stand for cast crankshaft, standard 4bbl, and premium fuel recomended.
HP can allsow stand for high preformance (but that is not likly on a 78 eh ??)
Now, the engine does not have a identification plate (the one thats supose to be on the passenger side, just above the oilpan.)
But the transmission has numbers on it.
The transmission numbers are PK4028871 6114 8922

Now I wonder is the vehicle ID plate supose to be these numbers (cause if they are they dont' make much sense)

and what I can understand from these are that:
P stands for Plymouth Fury,
K stands for Priceclass Police,
40 is supose to stand for Body type, but here I cant find a match (the closest are 41; 4-door sedan),
2; Here there is supose to be a letter for engine ???,
8 (Model year) this stands for 78 and is the reason i think the engine and transmission came in my car as one,
8 (assembly plant is either letters or numbers number 8 stands for export.
the rest i dont have any idea...

Wath do you think of this mess tst

Your heads are the good ones with good flow and the bonus of hardened seats for unleaded fuel.

Looked up the 3830733 on the intake manifold and came up with a 1975-76 440 4bbl cast iron intake.

The trans numbers you have are not the VIN numbers. The VIN would be on a raised pad on the passenger side of the trans (see photo on my web site).

PK stands for the Kokomo plant where these units are made. The seven numbers after PK are a part number and then I think the next two sets of four are some sort of sequential number and build date.

It is only the last 8 digits of the VIN stamped on the engine/trans/body parts so the '8' will be 1978 (or 1968!) and the 'A' will be the Lynch Road, MI plant. The last six are the plant sequential number for whatever car the trans came from.
