Just been to Jegs Highh Performance Parts. I can get these awsome Clevite 77 bearings, the tri-metal ones, for my car, reasonably priced too. Wow, sure is nice to have two sources to choose from. What due you think of Mopar Performance bearings?

Today's engines operate under very demanding conditions. Federal Mogul has responded to this challenge with its babbit high performance cam bearings. They feature high embedability and conformability and a special "sacrificial" design that enables the bearing surface to deform under extreme loads, preventing any wear and damage to the camshaft.

What is this "sacrificial" deforming surface thing. I know I don't want my bearings to deform when I am reacing some one!

These legendary Tri-Metal 77 high performance engine bearings incorporate the strength of a copper-lead alloy layer, on a steel backing, overlaid with a precision electro-plated white metal babbitt material. The steel backing provides durability and strength; and the white metal babbitt overlay provides the critical surface characteristics of embedability, slipperiness and conformability. This ideal bearing design has properties that are not found in many original equipment bearings.

Dave Which bearings, after reading both brands discriptions of their products, would you rather prefer to pruchase?

You need to ask someone that builds and re-builds a lot of engines because what you really want to know is how do they look afer use in a race or high milage engine.

I think your are right, that Clivet 77 are the best. I am sure that any mechanic would have to agree.

I looked at what Mopar Performance had to offer for bearings and I have to say it is pretty pitiful what they have to offer.

Hear about the new mini, yes i know it is WAY off the subject. They will be in the U.S. here pretty soon! :^)
