I know that Paul Herd has been wrong before. Anyway, this is what he writes about k-frames: Three basic k-members were used: one is for the six-cylinder engines, one is for both the small- and the big-blocks, and the last is for the hemi. T/A is listed as using a special cross-member, yet there is no aparent physical difference between it and a regular k-member. A small, round, metal tag is welded to the bottom of the k-member, and the last two digits of the part number are stamed upside-down in the tagĀ“s face.
Note: He does not mention anything about 440 six pack engines. That makes me a bit uncertain if this engine used the common V8 k-member or the hemi k-member?
Question: This metal tag that he writes about, does it appear on all k-frames or only on the T/A-frame? (I am not quite sure what he means)
Fun to read that you succeeded with the overdrive installation. Maybe we can call you Mr Four-speed from now on?
