Nitrous oxide set-ups

Postby Ron Morgan (Cartman) » 28 Dec 2002 20:36

can anyone help me with advise on n/oxide set ups.
ive bought several books ect,but none seem to cover if fitting to a dual carb set-up.
ie- a two plate kit,to go on top of a weiand tunnel ram.
i have been talking to the lads at real steel, and one said i could get a kit,and then another plate and soleniods to make into a two plate setup.on another visit i was told to get two kits and combine.(obviously a lot more expensive).i dont want a fogger set up,just a low hp 2 plate set-up.
any ideas or a supplier who can help me out.
cheers,rgds ron

If you ask me I would think a sinlge system with an extra plate for the 2nd carb. Then use some ft of extra tubes & nipples (T's) to spread the amount of nitrous over the two carbs you have.

If using two complete systems (for example an 150hp kit) I don't think you get a 150hp increase neither as 300hp but something between. So if you go for a double system you have to take extra care with choosing the right amount of nitrous so you won't blow up the engine. And as you said it's a big diff concerning the $$.

Maybe I start to swear (it's a kind of ***** aphoteke) right now but have you tryed the people at Summit? I have asked some questions (and ordering parts) in the past and they do know quite good what they're selling.

cheers hans, will try ringing summit racing,i think one kit and xtras is the right way to go,but someone out there must have one fitted or knows someone..need help poss sourcing one over here in u.k. preferably.unless someones got a kit theyre selling.
ive seen several cars at shows/race meets with twin plate setups on tunnel rams,so will try to collar the drivers and take loads of piccies.its just that when i opened my wallett and showed a wad of cash,my quote went from £500 to £800!!and the advise went from one kit to two needed.

I'd do it the way Hans suggests Ron, save your money for the Essex swap meet in march, bet there will be stuff for sale. Rather than buying kits, it might work out cheaper to buy just the parts you need, we'll have to meet up and discuss it.
