Synthetic oils.

I was reading the MMA site about synthetic oils. I'm not a member of the MMA so can't post there. If you change the oil regularly, like every other race meeting, then synthetic doesn't really work out as cost effective. It is supposed to give a slight increase in power though. Another thing is that synthetic oil plays havoc with prepped racetrack surfaces, it burns through it for some reason and takes much longer to clean up (so i'm told). I don't use it myself. It does last longer and would be a good idea in a road car. Prelube an engine before you start it after standing long periods. Something which you have to do every time its stands more than a couple of days with a milodon external oiling system, its also a good opportunity to check that sacrificial bronze gear drive too.
