im running a weiand tunnel ram with twin 450 holleys,on a 383 big block.on pulling away from standing,in drive on my slapstick,it hesitates, even sometimes stalling.if i put it into 1st or 2nd -its ok,and then slap into drive.running the standard mechanical fuel pump.does this mean i need a bigger flow fuel pump, even poss an electrical one?
also on shutting down rapidly from speed -it backfires, running pete jackson timing cogs,so presuming timing ok....he says..

Ron, what convertor are you useing? what is the lift/duration of your cam? what gears in the rearend? Tunnel rams are hard to get to run right on street driven automatic cars, they are designed for full throttle launching, and high RPM, and are best used for all out race use. To stand a chance of getting reasonable performance on the street I feel you need a "loose" convertor, and at least 4.10 gears. the powerband on your manifold is from about3500 to7500+, does this match your cam? The other problem is fuel distribution when only the primary throttle blades are open, cylinders 3&4 and 7&8 will run lean until the secondarys are open.
