Ade if you have al the parts needed to put on the six pack and you whant to have something fun to do the reply to your quis is easy PUT IT ON but plug the pre heat channel on the intake and try to do a match port down to under 1mm. There were a resone that the stock bb six pack cars beat the 4bbl you know and that whasent only the compresion difference that gave that result but as far as the flow your safe on the 750 so its up to you i gueas
and i dont realy know what that engine consit of as far as pistons/cam cc on heads and or if they have had a good porting jobb !?

The block, crank and rods are '72 HP, cam is a Comp Extreme 507/510 and the pistons are KB Hyper step dome, heads are open chamber 452's, stock except for Comp springs and retainers, Crane Gold roller rockers and pushrods. CR works out at 10.5:1.
Ign is FBO ecu, recurved MP dist.
Runs fairly strong, just sneaked into the 12's at 105-106, with a 4 speed, 3.23 gears and exhaust all hooked up etc.
Not looking for a huge improvement in times so much as enjoying having a SixPack induction without sacrificing the drivability of the car as it is now, cos it's lovely.

You will love the six pack mate. Just bare in mind that the iron manifold is HEAVY. I prefer the edelbroke just for light weight alone. The iron set up will completely destroy your back putting it on if you are not careful.
Set the carb jet and PV restriction channels up as per MP instructions and it will put a smile on your face.
Sometime in the next few weeks I will be playing host to a completely stock, numbers matching, 1970 440+6 Cuda (with shaker) as the owner has noticed it is not running very well. So I will be re-building the carbs completely and modifying the timing curve to suit modern unleaded.
Hopefully the result will bring a smile to his face too. I like seeing owners become more happy with their Mopars.

I had the factory cast iron 4 bbl manifold on until early last year, the Performer intake and the glass open vented hood gave me about 4/10's on the qtr!

Weiand did a realy good intake for Direct Connetion back in the days that i favor if you whant to go fast but i dont have any car for mine yet so it will have to stay on the shelf for a wile longer but this intake should have been what Dave should have lookt for if he realy whanted to inprove his time slip
I also have the Edelbrock STR from those days over the counter at same place whit a six pack lid for the RB block but that combo is a dicaster so it will have to stay as a discution on the shelf when i get nice friend on visits

Ade i dident know that you had the 4 speed in your car.... You should have lookt for these carbs insted then whit almost no modification from stock but i gues you can try to power shift if you whant to go fast or seirius mods making your progresive !? I will save mine for the Weiand intake
I could sell you this NOS set of corse as i have two sets but its fairly expesive as i have the shiping and al phees payed on these but if you could sell yours repro stock carbs and ads some there yours and you would only have to put new gaskets in as these never had fuel in them and build your own progresive linkage !?

If i dident have a super fresh Camaro bb pre 70 to straiten out a crappy Chines copy of a Holley carb that is useing dubbel the amount of fuel for next weekend and do the 498 six pack stroker engine ready for a custermer and at the same time trying to get al sorted out on my own car and the guy im doing work for on my spare time on his historik DTM cars some times at nites as i have to make molds monday to friday i would have popt over and help you out geting your six pack screaming like it should ! I might go down to Datteln Germany for the Mopar Meet this year if im still alive at that time but will any of you pom guys do that this year ?

Nice offer Pat
I should be ok, I got a brand new still in box Holley 2300 centre carb, 2 outer carbs are rebuilt '71 units, gonna get the Promax side idle throttle plates as per Eddies recommendations and then chuck it all on.
Got a stack of Felpro intake tubs with the heat rider blocked off, using one now.

Great that you are on top of it Ade
I have one Promax carb set on my old six pack engine and the rear thotell blade base whit the side idel mixure screws are great and maybe the jet plates would help you out some to !? You might what to do a safe deal whit that expert (Ben) i have a friend that payed for one of those and it never turned up and no refund or tracking that could prove that it whas even sent out so mabe you sould ask Eddie to handel the order and send it to you !

Good advice Pat, by the time you add up a baseplate, metering block and a pr of billet jet plates it comes to a few hundred bucks.
I wonder if SixPack Speedshop will supply them to me? They're over here at the Mopar Euronats in July

Ade if you realy whant to save money the billet jet plates for the outboards are also made by quick fuel for way less than Ben will rob you for
BUT you will regret that you dident take my offer on the 82-83 carbs at some time i promis becas you will never get your car to run the best whitout a mecanikal progresive linkage and the benefit of acc pumps in the outer corner will also handel the fuel delivery in a hole different possetive way. Dave whas on his way discovering this when he made the progresive mods on his set.

I wasn't so much as "on my way" as "arrived" and enjoying myself thank you.
The stock vacuum carbs are great. There is just that slight lag between wanting the full power under load and getting it.
Pete Wiseman had the same set-up as me on that 69 Coronet Superbee of his. Not sure if he fitted a stock type induction when he swapped that monster stroked 440 out of it or not. Worth asking. He might want a more standard set-up on it anyway with it being a real six pack car.

One thing I just remembered about mine. I couldn't get the stock 1973 Jensen SP metering block to work with my big solid cam. I swapped in a metering block from a Holley 850 and that did the trick. Not sure if the original 1970 type copes better with big cammed engines or not.

Yep Petes still got that mechanical setup on his Bee, lifted straight off the 528" stroker that Vince built.
May be worth asking tho eh?

Dave i whas in a humbul way trying to explain to Ade that you almost would have dicoverd the 82&83 carbs and there benefits and that is in STOCK condition whit no mods even flowing more then the vacume ones if you chose to beleve the old timers that realy used them but you are welcome and exused becas you have a great slogan about mistakes

I think one of the guys in our Mopar club here (Jem Warners old car Daveman) had a Wieand intake just like that on his 62-63 Savoy period racer, was very trick but streetable and car ran low 12's with ease

Yes but;
a) Need a hood scoop
b) Need to epoxy bits of wood in there to direct flow and prevent raw fuel running down the runners.
Other than that they are great and I actually had the chance to buy one cheap (possibly the same one) but didn't want to mess with the hood.

Wow ! It looks like the engine is retarding thru the intake runners and up the carb venturis
That must be a fast car
This is what happens when you chose a cam whit to mutch duration like i tryed
to tell you about Ade and i surpect that the intake valves roof on that engine looks realy bad inside the runner to.
Ade you have a lot of good tips and trick in the old race manual from DIrect Connetion for alot of things
like the one metiond by Dave to make the Weiand intake work on the street ! Have you seen that manual
or even maybe have one your self ?

Im having trubbel whit the right front carbs idel mixture... When i put my finger over the outer air bleed the engine lowers the idel and runs bad but al other corners are great ! I also am having some trubbel whit the idel when im braking hard becas the engine dont like that but the fuel level are great in the bowls... Any surgetions ? Could the channel be clogged for the idel mixure in right front corner ? The engine leans out when i brake on idel !

If I have this right in my head then if you block the air bleed and it slows the mixture is rich. Goes faster and it is too lean.
So I think it is rich on that corner for some reason. Maybe the other bleed is blocked?
