Rear Floor Section- Same in 7- thru 74?

Postby cv70chall » 12 Dec 2012 14:25

I ran into an interesting ordeal this past weekend while trying to complete the floor installation. It seems that the Goodmark rear floor section (stamped for 70-74 Challenger) does not fit properly- actually, it sits about 2 inches further forward than it should- which means nothing lines up.
Does anyone know if there was a difference from 1970 to 1974? Could there have been a difference in early 1970 versus late 1970?
I'm trying to find out before having to modify this floor section in order for it to fit properly.
Thanks

Try to line up the floor where the crucial relationships are. The edge on the opposite side of the sheet metal will then be in an area where an exact fit does not matter much, such as below the front seats or above the rear axle.
