I'm not sure if you're bars are factory Chrysler T-Bars. The part number on 1970-71 factory 440/426 Torsion bars are 1857781-780 these are 41" long with .920 diameter and a brown inspection daub on the length of the bar. Maybe your's are big block bars but aftermarket. What is the diameter of these bars?

Take a pair of calipers and check the diameter yourself, but 7/8 bars are not big block bars. I think .860" was small-block?

Was this small-block diameter or did they have smaller bars than this?

According to this Chrysler casting Book, Part#1857775-774 for 198,225,318 were .860 so to answer your question, yes.

Just adjust it until it looks right.
There is a factory way to measure but it is not easy to do and does not take into effect how the rear is sitting.
Your eye is the best tool.
But bare in mind that adjusting one front bar will also effect the height at the opposite corner in the rear. So whatever way you decide to do this check the rear heights at the same time.
