Detailed underbody pictures needed

Postby Hemi Hound » 11 Jun 2004 3:14

Hey
Can anyone send some detailed pictures of a 1970 Dodge Challenger underbody to me? I need to replace some component of the underbody and I want it to look original so I need something to go by. I also just want to see what kind of underbody I'm dealing with (ie. floor pans and such) If someone could send me some deatiled pics I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance
Allan

That is "over restored" and not how they came from the factory!

This is a 1971 six pack Challenger from the June Mopar Action Magazine (you have to read the right magazines guys  ).

Chrysler did not paint the underside. At most you got a bit of overspray. Often the oil sump had no paint on the underside either.

Click on the image to see it full size.

Here are a couple of underbody pictures that I have found useful...

The green car was a '71 small block that was for sale in the past year. The other car was an all original T/A survivor car.

Thank you David. Those are useful shots. I am even tempted to paint the underside of my car primer grey!
